I have been asked what books would be good for kids to read over the summer. My personal favorites for 4th and 5th grade students are:
- Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
- A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snickett
- Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
- The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
Here are some book lists you can look at for more ideas:
- American Library Association summer reading list
- San Jose Public Library 4th grade books
- San Jose Public Library 5th grade books
- Teacherp's upper grade book list
Have a great time reading new books. Don't forget to leave a comment so I can update you on the Summer Reading Challenge page.
