Answer these exit ticket questions.

Level 1

About what percent of water is in the oceans? Why is this important to know?

The Water Cycle -- 5th Grade Science

Watch the video above to get you started.  When you finish, read about the water cycle to complete your project this week.  Project -----> Science Diagrams

This Kid's Zone article does a pretty good job of explaining the water cycle.  (It refers to runoff as collection, but it's the same idea.)
If you need more information, this article about the water cycle is very thorough.
Check out this cool, interactive diagram from the USGS.

This water cycle rap is just for fun.

Water Molecules & Surface Tension

After our time in the science lab today, many of you told me you wanted more information about surface tension and hydrogen bonds.
Surface tension basics
Surface tension -- kids encyclopedia
Hydrogen bonds -- chemistry images
Hydrogen bonds -- ehow
I encourage you to explore this topic and to experiment more with it.  Google is your friend.  You can learn much more than I have posted above by searching for surface tension, hydrogen bonds, and water molecules.  Have fun!!!
