Announcing the SUMMER READING CHALLENGE!!!

I challenge all of my current, former, and future students to read at least 5 good chapter books this summer.  Are you wondering what you should read?
5th grade summer reading list
5th grade book list -- San Jose Public Library
6th grade summer reading list
6th grade book list -- San Jose Public Library

Leave me a comment so that I know what you are reading.  I might even recommend your book on this website.

As you are completing this challenge, let me know by leaving comments.  I will keep track of the number of books you have read on this link.  If you complete (or better yet, eclipse this challenge) I will try to get you recognized by the principal in the fall.  Happy reading!!!

    1. Glad to hear you are up for the challenge. I recommend the book Holes that Eryn read. My class read it at the end of the year, just like I read A Wrinkle in Time with your class in 4th grade. I also recommend The Hobbit or Tuck Everlasting. Enjoy.

    2. Hi Mr. Prola! Hope you have a good summer. I want to sign up for the challenge. I am currently reading "The Hobbit". (I used quotes because I don't have italics or underlining). I also joined the library's Dig Into Reading contest. I, too, have finished Holes by Louis Sachar. *bows* Thank you. :D

  3. Mr. Prola, I have anything but competion. I am highly offended. Aimee may be a fast reader, but you just can't underestimate me. BTW, I already signed up for the summer reading thing at the library a week ago.
